SUNY ESF GSA Grants & Awards committee

The Graduate Student Association appropriates a portion of its annual budget to provide support for graduate student research through funding: 1) travel incurred while presenting original work or for professional development; and 2) original research project needs.

Travel Grants are awarded twice a year and are meant to cover travel-related expenses when presenting scholarly research at local, national, or international conferences and scientific meetings. The grant can also be used to fund graduate students attending professional development seminars and workshops. Grant money can be used to fund mileage, airfare, rental cars, and accommodations. Awards are for a maximum of $250 and students can only receive funding from the GSA once per academic year.

Research Grants are award once per year and are meant to cover research needs.  Awards are for a maximum of $500 and students can only receive funding from the GSA once per academic year.

No selection by the Grants & Awards Committee will discriminate, or promote any form of discrimination, on basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or veteran’s status in any program, activity, or service.
