                          Whether you’re planning on graduating this semester, taking your candidacies, or just planning ahead 
                          for completing your degree in the future, there is a specific process and paperwork involved. 
                          To help you navigate this process, we invite you to join us for a

                          Lunchtime Learning Seminar: So you want to graduate?
                          Friday February 3rd 
                          12:00-1:00pm in 110 Moon Library

                          We'll go over the details of the timeline of requirements for completing your degree 
                          with Scott Shannon and Suzette Vandeburg of the Office of Instruction and Graduate Studies 
                          and open it up for any questions you may have. 
                          Light refreshments will be served, but feel free to bring your lunch!

                          Ladies and gentlemen, the GSA Speaker Committee invites you to the next installment of the Graduate Student Speaker Series, to be held on Friday, January 27th in Moon 110 at 12:00. Michael Amadori, M.S. - ERE, will present: "From Food Waste to Fresh Food: Using Aquaponics in a Closed Loop System for Campus Sustainability." No better way to round out the school week than cheese, crackers, and learning in the library!

                          Greetings Grads! If you are looking for a possible venue for presenting your research or artistic endeavors, our fellow SUNY school at Brockport is offering their first annual Master's Level Graduate Research Conference.

                          Where: SUNY Brockport
                          When: Saturday, April 14, 2012
                          Who (from Call): Graduate students across disciplines from Brockport and other universities in upstate New York and nearby Ontario, Canada. Students Enrolled in Master's and graduate certificate programs to present original research and artistic endeavors in poster sessions, panel presentations, and creative performances.

                          Hello grads! Hopefully your semester has wrapped up, and you can start getting back to that pile of papers, potential grants, and other details that have been on the back burner.

                          The Graduate Office has recently announced, via e-mail from Dean Shannon, the 2012 Edna Bailey Sussman Foundation Graduate Internships. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your research sponsored and gain valuable experience collaborating with a relevant organization. More details can be found here:

                          Ladies and gentlemen, the GSA Speaker Committee cordially invites you to the next installment of the Graduate Student Speaker Series, to be held on Tuesday, December 13th in Baker 408 at 12:30. Ben Ballerstein, MPS, will present his capstone project: "Collective Footprints: Sustainability in Collective Housing." The project culminated in a documentary which Ben will discuss and show. Please join us by taking a break from studying for finals to enjoy this presentation. Refreshments will be provided.

                          Fall Travel Grant Applications 11/01/2011

                          GSA is pleased to announce our Fall Travel Grant application.  The application deadline for fall travel grants is Tuesday, November 15th. These reimbursement grants are meant to help students cover the cost of travel and accommodations for presenting at a professional conference. Only students who are presenting will be considered for this award, and funds can be used to cover travel between October 1-March 31 2011. Students can receive a maximum of $200 once per academic year and winners of the Fall 2011 travel grants are not eligible for the Spring 2012 travel grants.

                          The application and guidelines can be downloaded at http://www.esfgsa.com/documents.html and submitted to gsa.esf@gmail.com with "Attn: Jen Yantachka" as the subject. Only complete applications will be considered.
