CNY Conference on Environmental Science and Studies

About the Conference

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Graduate Students Association, in collaboration with The Graduate School and the Office of Research Programs and with support from the Louis Stokes Alliance of Minority Program Participation (LSAMP), ESF Moon Library and the Mighty Oak Student Assembly (MOSA) hosted its inaugural Central New York (CNY) Conference on Environmental Science and Studies (CCESS) on April 7-8th, 2023 at the SUNY ESF Syracuse campus.

This conference is geared towards providing an opportunity to graduate and undergraduate students within CNY and the surrounding areas to present their research in environmental science and studies. The need for this conference arose due to a dearth of opportunities available for students at ESF to present their research due to lack of funding for travel and competition for research paper presentation slots at other conferences.

ESF is a great place to host this conference due to our long history of involvement in research in various fields of environmental studies and science (ESS) and our hope is that this will continue to be an annual event. The initial staging of the conference boasted 49 presentations and 4 professional development workshops, catering to over 100 participants.
