Graduate Student Association (GSA) Senate Honorary Awards

Each year the GSA accepts nominations for graduate student awards for the concluding academic year.  Please monitor your inbox for deadlines and other information related to this award.

The five award categories are:
  • Excellence in Academic Research Award Open to ESF faculty and graduate students to nominate graduate students for their accomplishments in academic research.
  • Excellence in Applied Research Award Open to ESF faculty and graduate students to nominate graduate students for their accomplishments in applied and actionable research and projects.
  • Excellence in Public Service Award Open to the entire ESF community to nominate graduate students committed to public services on campus and beyond.
  • Excellence in Teaching Award Open to the entire ESF community to nominate graduate students for the 2020-2021 academic year. Undergraduate students are encouraged to submit nominations.
  • Inclusive Excellence Award Open to the entire ESF community to nominate graduate students who made significant contributions to advance SUNY ESF’s mission of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the past academic year.

Process
After the deadline, the Grants and Awards Committee will reach out to the nominated students and ask them to submit a brief personal statement to help the committee understand and evaluate their work. After all personal statements are received, the committee will meet to deliberate and select the awardees. Awardees will be notified and receive their award by the end of the spring semester.
