Spring 2016 Applications
The GSA is proud to be able to support graduate students who are doing original research. The Research Grant is intended to provide graduate students with greater access to research opportunities by providing grants.
The Graduate Student Association appropriates a portion of its annual budget to provide support for graduate student research through funding: 1) travel incurred while presenting original work or for professional development; and 2) original research project needs.
Research Grants are awarded each semester and are meant to cover research or project-related expenses including equipment, supplies, and travel to conduct research. Awards are for a maximum of $500. Regardless of whether or not a proposal is funded, each applicant submitting a properly completed application and proposal will receive a compiled set of comments and suggestions for improving the grant that can be used increase the quality of any other submissions to other entities. Even if you do not get the grant, the experience of going through the process is an experience of utmost importance for graduate students.
Students can resubmit an unfunded grant from the prior year after addressing the comments made by the reviewers. Please email the chair if you have not received reviewer's comments from previous years. Applications and proposals are to be submitted electronically as a .pdf, respectively, to email@example.com with "GSA Research Grant" in the subject heading.
The due date for Spring 2016 Research Grants is April 13th by 5 PM.
