....Intersections of Technology, Society, and the Environment
The bounds of human knowledge and imagination continue to be pushed and aided by advancements in technology. Within the last decade, innovations in computer technology have occurred at unprecedented rates, altering the social and environmental networks that supply, sustain, and retain these technologies. Environmental science and studies research has undeniably evolved with the use of virtual reality, AI, digital imaging, and refined computation, and with it, so has our role as researchers. Alongside the celebration of our scientific successes, it is necessary for us to critically reflect on how technology can improve our research without compromising the integrity of our knowledge.
The 2025 staging of the CNY Conference on Environmental Science and Studies (CCESS25) will provide a platform for student researchers at all stages to showcase their use of technology in advancing scientific knowledge while inviting student researchers to pause and critically reflect on technology's role in shaping their research and their relationship with the environment. |
